Products i've bought so far this year, some re-purchases and others brand new. Let me start with the re-purchases:
Loreal Carbon Gloss eyeliner in black - I have tried a lot of liquid eyeliners, some expensive and some not. This has to be my favourite by far, and I only discovered it last year through a friends recommendation. Years ago I used a liquid eyeliner by Clinique (can't remember it's official name) then I think it must have been discontinued as suddenly it disappeared (hate it when that happens). After trying out loads of rubbish liners, this made me love doing winged cat-eyes once more. Really good thick tip and will last nearly all day.
UNE Brow Pencil in B01 - This was the only pencil I could find that was cheap and matched my fair eyebrows. Benefit have an amazing pencil but it's pretty pricey and doesn't last very long, so I prefer this for days when I want some shape to my brows but can't be bothered putting in too much effort.
Estee Lauder Signature Lipstick - Rich Red - This is my favourite red lipstick of ALL TIME. I first got this about 2/3 years ago for Christmas and it ran out last month. Once it hit payday, I bought myself another (it's damn pricey at £19) but it's such a gorgeous colour and really moisurizing (it says on the packaging "hydra lustre lipstick" it's got a lovely gloss to it, but it isn't too shiny. It feels like i'm putting pure silk on my lips. I've never tried any other colours from that range, but it's the best red lipstick i've ever bought (and i've bought quite a few).
Revlon Colourstay in 220 - My everyday foundation. I've did a proper review on this foundation a couple of posts ago.
Now, the most important bit. New new new!
Loreal True Match Powder in D3 Golden Beige - This is the first time i've ever bought a powder, and the only reason I did so was because I also recently purchased the Chanel Vitalumiere foundation and it doesn't go down too well around my oily patches. I'd read good things about this powder and I didn't want an expensive one as I wouldn't be using it very often. I highly recommend it, it feels silky smooth on my skin and helps set in my foundation stopping it sliding off my skin half way through the day.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection in Light - Admittely, I was pretty slow in following the fuss around this product. Bloggers and YouTubers have raved about this concealer for ages, but I was set in my ways. I've previously been happy with Maxfactor Mastertouch and Loreal Perfect Match but I decided they weren't covering up my dark circles and needed a change. This is an amazing concealer and it's what, £4? Now really I shouldn't use it around my eyes because it is pretty drying but it covers up my dark circles like a dream. Obviously, amazing for blemishes and spots but thankfully I don't suffer with them very often.
Clinique Eyecream - Rich - Ok, i'm very naughty. The first eyecream i've ever bought. Actually, that's a lie I once bought a cheap one from Boots that did sod all so I stopped using it after a few days. I thought it was time I bought a grown up eyecream and I knew it had to be Clinique. I've also heard good things about the Christian Dior eye creams, so that's next on my list. I've been using this for about 2 weeks now, and my eyes were very dry. You can tell how dry your eyes are if your concealer creases up into those horrible little lines. Mine did that instantly. Now, my eyes aren't saved completely yet but I have started to notice a difference. I put this on every morning and evening. It really is important to use a special moisturizer for your eyes, because the skin is so much more delicate.
Revlon Pearl - Wild Orchid 457 - I actually got this lipstick free with my Revlon foundation. Boots had a deal where you bought any foundation and you got a lipstick for free. I have a lot of red and pinks, so picked this deep pink/purple lipstick which I love! It feels like i've time-warped into the 80's when i'm wearing it, but it's so moisturizing on my lips that I can wear it all day.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B20 - Same with the Revlon Colourstay, i've previously done a proper review of this foundation. I do love it and my skin feels so natural when it's on but i'm not sure i'll buy this again. I dunno, i'm undecided.
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer in NW20 - I'm not too fussed on this concealer to be honest. I went into MAC asking for a good under eye concealer and she thrust this into my hands. It's great for blemishes, but I wouldn't say it's great for your eyes. It's not even liquid, but like a kinda paste in a pot. I use it around my nose and to cover up any spots.
BRUSHES:
MAC 219 - great for defining a smokey eye.
Sigma Flat Kabuki F80 - used with powder.
Sigma Concealer F70 - does what it says on the tin. So much better than using your finger.
Sigman Small Angle E65 - eyeliner brush, which I use with eyeshadow.
Aveeno Daily Exfoliating Cleanser - I bought this after seeing great reviews on youtube. It's only in the past 6 months i've started to pay more attention to cleansers, but I rarely change my skin routine. It's really bad to swap and change between products because your skin hasn't got a clue what's going on. I've been using this for the past month, and at first I wasn't sure. It would leave my skin red (although very clean) that I'd have to cover myself in foundation to look normal. However, my skin seems to have accepted it and it's doing wonders. It feels so clean and smooth, although I now use it before I go to bed. I need to buy more Aveeno products asap (they're pretty cheap!) as they're full of natural products.
Did you find that useful? I don't buy make-up that often but I had a massive splurge this past month. I like to read lots of reviews before I buy something new (especially if it's expensive) so I always make sure whatever I buy i'll actually use!
Oh btw - Happy Valentines Day!
I've never celebrated this day in my life and it is a complete farse, but even so I'm off to my boyfriends because he's cooking me a meal :) Have a great day, if you're loved up or single.
